Skywarn Recognition Day is sponsored by the National Weather Service on the First Saturday of December annually.  For 2025, December 6, 2025, ue to fallout from the Federal Government shutdown, NWS has cancelled the 2025 event.

Regardless of the cancellation, Centre Counties ARES will conduct a short exercise on Saturday, December 6, 2025 from 1000 to 1100. Continue reading for details.

Stations in any of the counties, or any county for that matter, in the thirty three county area of NWS CTP responsibility are asked to check in when WX3CTP calls on repeaters in their area. Below are links to the files that explain what we will be doing.  Results of the exercise will be compiled and provided to NWS CTP.

This file provides a listing of the repeaters WX3CTP is able to contact in most situations.  It will serve as the ICS-205 Incident Communication Plan for the exercise. The bearing figure is for use at the NWS CTP station.
