Amateur radio has again been asked to provide communications coverage for the annual fund raising bicycle race of the Moshannon Valley Branch of the Centre County, Pennsylvania YMCA. Members of the NARC and PARA participated last year and while providing serious service we had a good time.

This year’s schedule is:

Race is Saturday, August 11, 2012 @ 11:00 AM in the Black Moshannon State Park/Forest in Western Centre County near Philipsburg, PA.
Amateur radio operators should be in place by 10:15 – 10:30.
The race should finish about 1:00 PM

Last year we had nine volunteers, ten counting the daughter of one of our volunteer operators. I would like to see at least that many this year.

There is no need for APRS capability, voice on the 146.16/.76 repeater served our purposes well last year.
