Skywarn Operations for June 14, 2026 Weather Event

Sunday June 14, 2026 a significant line of storms passed through Central Pennsylvania.  The first notices of the event came from National Weather Service warnings and reports from Clearfield County Amateur Radio Club of severe weather.

Skywarn operators Greg Gusie, K3HOT, and Carmine Prestia, K3CWP reported to the National Weather Service Office (NWS) in State College to operate the VHF/UHF amateur radios there. A tornado was reported in Western Clearfield county then later high winds and heavy rain in Clearfield Borough.

Repeaters in Centre, Clearfield, Lycoming, Dauphin, and Cambria Counties were monitored throughout the event. The station was staffed from 1800 to 2100. Skywarn volunteers staffed emergency management centers in Clearfield, Lycoming, and Lancaster Counties.
